Kim Kadashian is alternately described as a socialite, reality TV celebrity, debutante, and entrepreneur or sometimes called a celebutante (a debutante who is a celebrity). Whatever she is called, Kim is well known and undeniably beautiful. Although she has many television credits and movie appearances to her name she may be best known for her naughty tape with her boyfriend Ray J.
Kim Kardashian was born in Los Angeles on October 21, 1980 to defense attorney Robert Kardashian who is perhaps best known for his defense of OJ Simpson. Robert Kardashian was of Armenian descent and Kim Kardashian describes her childhood as filled with Armenian holidays, foods and stories. Kim's mother is Kris Jenner nee Houghton. She has two sisters and one brother, Kourtney, Kloe, and Robert as well as a host of stepbrothers and sisters, Burton, Brandon, Brody and Casey Jenner and two half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
While her parents were affluent they also believed in the work ethic and Kim Kardashian was on her own financially at the age of 18. This very possibly contributed to her entrepreneurial career since her family was determined their children would grow up to become independent and self-sustaining individuals.
Kim Kardashian is known in part for her boutique, and the series of designer fragrances and clothes launched bearing the Kardashian name and endorsement. Kim has appeared on Beyond the Break. She then starred the film spoof Disaster Movie. Kardashian appeared in a How I Met Your Mother episode and Kim and Kloe appeared on the tenth season premiere of 90210. However perhaps the most well known television credit for Kim is the reality TV show "Keeping up with the Kardashians" by E!.
While the life of the Kardashians portrayed on their reality show is hardly typical and keeping up with them might be beyond the means of the average viewer they have proved to be very popular. Most viewers can identify with the blended family as presented on this reality show and the beautiful Kardashian sisters attract more than a little attention and some envy.
E! published Kim Kardashian's earnings and stated that the figure was near 5 million per year. Although being born into an affluent family can guarantee an income for some, Kim Kardashian has earned hers. While Kim has changed focuses several times she appears to be successful in her endeavors and even when as a production closes she is already moving onward to the next thing in her busy life.
In 2007 Kim Kardashian was December cover girl for Playboy magazine. Kim was the Spokeswoman for Bongo jeans although she was more voluptuous than the usual model for these designer jeans. Kim added to her credits by appearing on "Dancing with the Stars" but barely made it three weeks into the show before being eliminated.
Whatever Kim Kardashian decides to try next she is bound to gather media attention. Her real girl figure (translation is curvy) her determined attitude and of course the Kardashian skin have made this debutante and child of a famous lawyer, famous in her own right.

How often do you buy the national newspapers and open it up to the middle pages to find photo's of personalities from TV, film and music posing for promo art or in compromising positions? VERY often, but what emphasis is placed on how they dress?
Celebrities can be partly defined by what they wear and not just by how they act on camera. But when celebrities are caught on camera behaving badly, what impact does this have on the label behind the nice designer clothes they are wearing?
Generally the case is "all publicity is good publicity" and because of this designer clothing labels will benefit from the misbehavings of those celebrities. A good example being Pete Docherty (ex Libertines). Docherty has been photographed on occasions wearing Gio-Goi clothing, a label he seems to love. This has hugely increased the reach of Gio Goi as a label and brought it to the "indie" crowd, where anybody who plays guitar owns a White Label tee.
One could argue that if a celebrity is spotted wearing your gear; you (as a brand) have made it. But what if a certain celebrity fuels an unsavory subculture that is generally considered bad, or wrong? A good example being bands like Oasis, who wore the expensive stuff and promoted "lad culture". Many clubs and bars disallow entry to people wearing brands like Henry Lloyd, simply due to the publicity caused by famous people that wore that clothing brand and acted like hooligans, for lack of a better term.
Ultimately I would consider celebrity fashion a positive however, with a certain MTV presenter wearing clothing by a relatively underground brand here in the UK; Drunknmunky. It gives great exposure and celebrities often give their opinions on music, film, politics and the like, so why should they not express themselves visually also?
Huge online clothing store ASOS prides itself on bringing celebrity fashion to the man (and woman) on the street, so it's clear that there is a massive market for this kind of clothing. And it makes sense - who wouldn't want to dress like their favourite artists and actors?

Who is your favorite movie star or television star? Have you ever wondered what their personal life was like? If you have, you're definitely not alone. It seems millions of us are interested in knowing the latest news or gossip about today's most popular stars. In addition to who is dating who, a lot of attention is also placed on celebrity fashions. Many people, particularly teenagers, wish that they could dress and look like one of their favorite celebrities. While this feeling is quite common, it also leaves many others questioning why.
When it comes to explaining the celebrity fashion phenomenon it is difficult to come up with a single answer as to why it is so popular. Different individuals like to look and dress like celebrities for different reasons. In essence though, there is a sense of idealism about celebrities, that they are living a life the rest of us could only dream of. Celebrities are like our alter-ego; we wish we could be just as beautiful and popular and it seems if we have what they have, we are closer to achieving our dream.
There is a downside to being so popular and well-known though. Many celebrities cannot leave their homes with out being recognised or followed by paparazzi everywhere they go. This seems to be the price of fame. However, there are many "everyday" individuals who wish that they had their own fan following or were as popular as their favourite star. Although dressing a certain way or carrying a certain handbag isn't necessarily guaranteed to make you more popular, some people, both men and women, will go to great lengths to be seen in the latest celebrity fashion trends.
In recent years, celebrities have become very well-known for their fashion choices. Indeed some celebrities seem to be famous for not much more than that! Award shows have become all about the fashion and every star who walks the red carpet is asked "Who are you wearing?" It is considered a major coup to have your designs worn by today's hottest star. And amazingly, cheap copies of the gowns worn at these shows are available to buy within 24 hours of the show being aired.
Finding celebrity gossip and information is becoming easier and easier. You can flip on the television and watch the latest celebrity news program or glance at the cover of a gossip magazine. But by far the biggest source of celebrity news and gossip is the internet and there are thousands of sites dedicated to exactly that purpose.
Although some might view the celebrity fashion phenomenon as an unhealthy obsession, there is actually really nothing wrong with keeping up with the latest in celebrity fashions. What you need to remember though is that just because it looks good on a celebrity, it doesn't necessarily mean that the same thing will look good on you. While as a teenager you can get away with wearing practically anything, if you are in your 20s, 30s and beyond and still blindly following the latest fashion trend regardless of whether it suits your body shape, you might want to reconsider your fashion habits.
Also, do you really want to be seen wearing something that is instantly recognisable as being a certain brand and that a lot of other people will also be wearing? Having 'style' is about far more than just your clothes and it is important to dress in a way that truly suits not only your body but also your lifestyle and career.
Price is another issue. Many celebrities have unlimited financial resources so the cost of clothing and fashion accessories isn't an issue for them, but it may for you. Of course you can dress like a celebrity if you want to, but you need to remember that celebrity fashions change regularly. There is point going broke trying to afford the "hottest" trend that may only last for a few weeks.
In short, while the celebrity fashion phenomenon won't be over anytime soon, you should approach with caution. Fame and fortune don't necessarily equal good taste, so always choose clothes and accessories that are flattering for your body and appropriate for your lifestyle.

Celebrity fashion tips, listed here are a few amazing tips that will help you to dress like a star with out spending like one.
You do need to have a full team of makeup artist and fashion experts to achieve that celebrity swagger. You can get the look of your favorite celebrity. And you definitely can do it on a budget. If you are looking to get your "star" shining follow these fashion tips on trends and shopping.
7 Celebrity Fashion Tips
1. Trends. It is all about following the latest trends and paying enough attention to where they are headed to buy wisely. Reading the fashion magazines will help you to keep in touch with the fast moving ever-changing fashion frenzy. You want to see as many pictures as possible and at least two from another country. Also it is important to watch what they are wearing in your area so as to keep breast of the trends in your area.
2. Not everything you see on others will look good on you. One of the best fashion tips ever is to dress for your body type and age level. Even if you think something might not look good on you, try it on it may well surprise you. Practice makes perfect and the more you get familiar with your bodies strengths and weaknesses the better you will be at playing up the positives.
3. The thing about fashion is that what once was old can be new again. Take the mini skirt it has been around a long, long time. The new wedge heel was the latest thing in 1975. Going to thrift stores and resale shops can yield surprising wardrobe finds. This is especially true of accessories. Vintage is in if you know how to sell it.
4. There is certainly something to be said for the knockoff. You can find what you want at the designer shops and keep track of the item. Go to one of the best stores you know of that sell knock off and get the item similar to what you tried on.
5. Start with great basics. From the undergarments outward. A little known secret is that the wrong underwear can destroy the look of a great outfit. Pay that little extra to get quality basics. These are the garments that will make up the foundation of your wardrobe. You can mix and match them with other pieces but they have to be able to take a lot of wear. There are some classic pieces that will never go out of style. Every great wardrobe starts with the basics.
6. Get an awesome pair of "shades" for strolling along the boulevard. And you cannot go wrong with the big floppy hat for a more "I am incognito" look. Get styles and colors of both to match the majority of your wardrobe.
7. Look for the items on sale and it is not written in stone that you have to buy a complete ensemble. It is best to list the separates in the ensemble and find them one at a time. As you are going about your life keep an eye for when the pieces go on sale.
It is entirely possible to look like a million bucks without actually spending one. Some items can be tailored to look even better on you. That is one of the secrets of why the celebrities clothes always seem to hang so well on them they are tailored to fit. By having a few things tailored you can achieve that "celebrity chic" you have been craving.

People that follow their favorite celebrity's styles sometimes know more about what they wear than their own families. And like to wear the same things that these celebrities wear. What these celebrities wear seems to be very important to their fans. There are a lot of young girls, and even some old ones, who are hopelessly smitten with celebrity fashions. Though I don't think there is anything absolutely wrong about this, it can become somewhat of a problem later on. Many young girls are trying to wear celebrity fashions that don't even fit them in terms of looks and even personality. When a 12 year old girl has a thong sneaking up above her jeans, you have to cringe a bit, and wonder how her mum actually let her out of the door.
Celebrity fashions are often led by fashion designers. When it comes to major events, most celebrities don't actually select or even pay for their own clothing. Designers give them dresses to wear. Another thing to consider is the lifestyle. A celebrity is expected to be larger than life but most of us end up looking ridiculous if we copy some of the celebrity fashions you see in the magazines. Some things should stay on the pages of a mag and should never be worn to the local supermarket for example.
There's just that element about celebrity fashions that catches the imagination of teens and adults alike. They always have the latest fashions, and celebrities are worshiped in our world. They have the money to buy the newest fashions, and they have to keep one step ahead. There is nothing wrong with wanting to wear celebrity fashions, but you should know that there is a good way to go about it, and after that, you have crossed the line into the absurd. Many of the clothes are meant to be larger than life, and they should stay on television and out of your wardrobe.
If you like celebrity fashions, you should make a few adjustments before you go shopping. If you like certain celebrity fashions, you can mix them up into your own style and design. Don't be a look alike, it's always better to stand out as an original.
Take your favorite parts of celebrity fashions and find a way to make them work within what you have already, while keeping your own personality and tastes involved. You may find this gives you more of a high than simply blindly following the celebrity fashions o' the day.

What really makes a celebrity a true celebrity? Is it the news coverage? The pursuit of tabloids? Perhaps sheer popularity is what drives us to call movie stars, musicians, and politicians celebrities. If that is the case, are the non-traditional stars celebrities as well?
In order to find a satisfactory answer to this dilemma, one must look for a celebrity index. CelebrityContest.net has developed an algorithm to assign a value to a celebrity, much as stocks are assigned a monetary value in order for site visitors or members to build celebrity portfolio. The algorithm takes into consideration the amount and timing of news items pertaining to celebrities as well as the popularity of the celebrity as a portion of online portfolios. But does this adequately measure the amount of celebrity status an individual has achieved?
Celebrity
To determine this, we need to consider what celebrity actually means. The American Heritage Dictionary defines celebrity as "a famous person," or "renown, fame." That definition is very broad indeed. To be renown is to simply be well-known. Osama Bin Laden is well-known, but does not necessarily have the same following as Jessica Alba. By this definition, however, they are both celebrities.
Thus, to be a celebrity, one must be either famous or infamous, and the distinction is not relevant. By this same token, individuals who have developed a following in unconventional ways such as the internet or reality programming are certainly celebrities as well - albeit some have more global coverage than others. So to measure the amount of celebrity an individual has obtained, one would simply need to measure his or her popularity.
Measuring Popularity
Before the information age, to measure popularity would involve countless newspaper and magazine searches. Print resources as well as television and radio contained any and all celebrity news and gossip. With the advent of the internet, this changed, of course. In present times, the internet has not only opened countless doors to those aspiring to stardom, but has developed a multitude of news and gossip outlets as well.
Most of the conventional media outlets - magazines, newspapers, radio, and television have developed an online presence. Often these websites contain more information pertaining to celebrities than the original medium. Those interested in entertainment news now have almost countless methods to find the information they seek.
The fastest way to find information online, however, is through the search engines. Major search engines index all web pages and online news items as they are developed, and offer users a chance to hone in on the desired material. Searching for celebrities will pull up thousands, if not millions, of relevant results. It follows that by simply counting the number of searches and articles for each celebrity, one could understand the popularity of that individual.
Celebrity Contest
It seems the algorithm developed by CelebrityContest.net holds true. The algorithm assigns value to a celebrity based on the number and age of news items and searches, which is the best indicator of popularity. Of course, the algorithm also includes results from CelebrityContest.net, which are a valid indicator as well.
If a celebrity is popular, he or she will be included in many portfolios. If he is becoming blasé, he will be dropped from portfolios in favor of more popular individuals. If a celebrity is looking for a gauge of her own value, she can perform a complicated web analysis, or simply track her price changes on CelebrityContest.net to understand how her fan base is feeling. Of course, fans can search for the value of their favorite celebrity, and even cash in on the details only devoted fans are privy to - insider trading if you will.
